Unmarried couples have no legal rights if they separate or one dies. The law does not recognise in any meaningful way, those living together but are not married or in a civil partnership.

Cohabiting couples have no protection should a relationship breakdown.

A Cohabitation Agreement sets out who owns what and in what proportion and let you document how the Property, savings, contents and other belongings are split should the relationship breakdown.

The Agreement can also cover financial Maintenance for Children.

The Document can set out the contributions of each Partner to the finances. It is a legally binding Agreement if executed properly, both parties would need to seek independent legal advice for it to come into force.
